Suns Fear Cam Johnson Tore Meniscus, per Report

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports the Phoenix Suns fear power forward Cam Johnson has tore his meniscus.

On Friday night, Phoenix Suns power forward Cam Johnson exited action after only playing five minutes of the 108-106 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers

Replaced by Torrey Craig, the Suns would ultimately miss Johnson's sharp-shooting and overall presence as a newfound starter in the lineup.

Previously battling injuries in the preseason, Johnson appeared to shake the early injury bug by playing in all seven games prior to Friday.

Now, it appears Johnson is set to miss some time.

The Athletic's Shams Charania reported on Saturday the Suns fear Johnson tore his meniscus in his right knee. He will undergo further testing.

Johnson scored a season high 29 points the game prior.

The Suns were quick to rule Johnson out of Saturday's action vs. Portland but declined to reveal anything further. The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin reports Johnson left the Footprint Center on Friday in crutches.

While we wait for official diagnosis/news from the team, this news is nowhere good for a Suns team looking to compete or Johnson, who is set to hit restricted free agency after reportedly turning down a four-year, $60 million deal.

Phoenix will take on the Trail Blazers here in just two hours.
