The Phoenix Suns have seen plenty of interesting names thrown around for new ownership candidates, yet a new presence emerging might be the biggest name of all.

Former President Barack Obama visited Phoenix to show support for the Democratic candidates at a rally earlier this week and talked about a topic of great interest to Suns fans and their franchise player.

"I wanted to come out here not only because it is sunny and warm, but also, you know, there's been a lot of these rumors about the Phoenix Suns and me," Obama said.

Last month, Bill Simmons of The Ringer shared that the former United States President was part of an ownership group looking to purchase the Phoenix Suns.

This led to Charles Barkley, whom Simmons was interviewed, saying he was going to join Obama on a property group. So Obama began his speech by touching on what he called "rumors" about the situation.

"I didn't know I was in the market and, by the way, neither did Michelle," continued Obama, mentioning his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama. "But I will say this. The Suns are looking pretty good. I've got to admit that. I think they have a few more wins than my (Chicago) Bulls right now."

Monty Williams was asked about possibly having Obama as a part of the franchise.

“I don’t tend to make comments about speculation, but I think anybody would value a partnership with someone like that,” Williams said.

“For me, as an African-American, even though you may have differences of opinions on certain views politically, whatever that looks like, someone that’s been through those kinds of experiences from a leadership standpoint, I would love to just pick his brain and just sit and listen for hours about life and decisions and things like that.”

Earlier this week Devin Booker shared that saw Obama's comments and elected to share some of his own regarding the matter.

"Everybody's involved right now," Booker said. "I've heard every type of name. It's not really my main focus. Obviously I have a respect for the president. It was one of those things that was cool to hear."
