Anthony Edwards in for Monday's game against Hornets

Wolves had listed Edwards as questionable with an illness.

Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards will play Monday night against the Charlotte Hornets, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said.

Edwards was a late add to the injury report on Monday with due to illness. Edwards is the team’s leading scorer at 25.9 points per game and also averages 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists. The Wolves will be looking for a bounce-back win Monday night after dropping Saturday's home contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Having Edwards will be key for a Timberwolves team already down Mike Conley, who is sitting out Monday for rest. Finch said that Conley has had a little bit of a nagging hamstring injury and that the rest day was out of caution.

The Timberwolves begin a long road trip after Monday night's game, beginning Wednesday when they visit the Washington Wizards. They'll play again the next night at the Brooklyn Nets, then again on Saturday at the San Antonio Spurs. The road trip concludes with a matchup next Monday night at Oklahoma City.
