Anthony Edwards in for Timberwolves against Clippers

Star guard was questionable for game with left knee contusion.

Anthony Edwards is in for Sunday night’s home tilt against the Los Angeles Clippers, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said pregame.

Edwards was listed as questionable for the game on Saturday due to a left knee contusion. He hadn’t missed any time, playing 27 minutes in the Wolves’ last game — a 116-93 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday at Target Center.

Edwards leads Minnesota with 25.8 points per game. He also averages 5.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists. The Timberwolves will need his production for a difficult game against the Clippers, who are in the midst of a three-game win streak and tout productive stars such as Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.

The game will also have an impact in the Western Conference picture. The Clippers currently sit fourth in the West, just two games behind the Wolves.
