Anthony Edwards' left-handed All-Star plan sends oddsmakers scrambling

FanDuel has taken the Timberwolves' stars points line off the board ahead of Sunday's All-Star Game.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is on a mission to shoot left-handed during the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday and his decision has sparked chaos for one sports betting site.

FanDuel originally had Edwards' points line at 17.5 entering the weekend, but dropped it to 12.5 points after Edwards, who is right-handed, said he was going to shoot left-handed the entire weekend.

Although Edwards has been confident in his ability to shoot with his off hand, his test run during Saturday's NBA Skills Challenge didn't inspire confidence as he missed three straight corner 3-pointers, two of them clanking off the side of the backboard.

While TNT analysts Reggie Miller and Kenny Smith groaned in disbelief, FanDuel acted quickly, taking Edwards' points bet completely off the board in advance of Sunday's All-Star Game.

Other betting sites such as BetOnline, BetMGM and DraftKings Sportsbook have followed suit as Edwards' points prop has been taken off the board.

Edwards hasn't backed down from his left-handed challenge and said during an interview with TNT's Allie LaForce on Saturday night that he thinks he can still score in double digits. Timberwolves fans who wanted to back Edwards with their wallets – or want to pick up some free money – may be disappointed but it could be one of the most interesting storylines of Sunday's All-Star Game.
