Anthony Edwards out against Pelicans, Jaden McDaniels active

Edwards re-injured his hip during Friday's game at Memphis.

Anthony Edwards is inactive for Friday night’s game at New Orleans with a right hip pointer, the Timberwolves announced a half hour before tipoff.

Jaden McDaniels, however, is poised to make his return, although he was not in the starting lineup. He was off the inactive list pregame. McDaniels has been out since Nov. 20 with an ankle injury.

Edwards checked himself out of Friday night’s game against Memphis early in the first quarter after reaggravating the injury and did not return to the game.

He had previously returned from the injury on Wednesday, scoring 17 points in a victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

Mike Conley, Troy Brown Jr., Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert were listed as the starters for Monday night’s game.
