Chris Finch believes Wolves 'have our mojo back'

'Feels like we have our mojo back in a lot of different ways, which is important to us.'

As the Timberwolves prepare to put together their first three-game win streak in a month, head coach Chris Finch feels like the team is getting back into the form that vaulted them to the top of the Western Conference.

With wins over Portland Trail Blazers Friday and the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday the Wolves had their first back-to-back wins in the new year. Those wins come off the back of a stretch where Minnesota lost four of six games, an unusual drop in form for a Wolves team that holds the second-best record in the league this season.

With the last two days to finally rest and recuperate after a stretch of 11 games in 19 days, Finch believes the freshness and "mojo" is back with his team.

"I think it's pretty good," Finch said Tuesday when asked about the health and freshness of the squad. "I would say a couple weeks ago we were pretty fatigued. You know, a lot of things going on. A lot of travel, holidays, tough schedule all that. Guys feel fresher right now. Feels like we have our mojo back in a lot of different ways, which is important to us."

That's certainly what the Wolves' upcoming opponents were not hoping to hear. Minnesota is set to take on the three worst teams in the Eastern Conference over its next five games. Despite the relative ease of the upcoming opponents, the schedule won't be kind on the turnaround time between games, with the next three games being played over a four-day span.

"It's important for us a coaches to make sure to keep (the players) in a right kind of pace to be able to play those games fresh," Finch said on the three-in-four. "But it feels like it's pretty good right now."
