Karl-Anthony Towns ruled out of Pacers game Thursday

The Timberwolves big man has left knee soreness, the team says.

Karl-Anthony Towns will miss the first game of the Timberwolves' road trip due to left knee soreness.

The Timberwolves confirmed Wednesday afternoon that Towns has been ruled out for Thursdays game against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.

There is no word yet on whether Towns will be available for Friday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Thursday's game in Indiana will mark the start of a six-game road trip that will also see the Wolves face the Cavs, Lakers, Clippers and two games against the Utah Jazz, the results from which could have huge implications for the Wolves' hopes to finish atop the Western Conference.

Towns played in Monday's home win over the Portland Trail Blazers, scoring 14 points with four rebounds and an assist.

It was also confirmed Wednesday that the Wolves have signed forward T.J. Warren to a 10-day contract.
