Next 16 games for Timberwolves all against teams above .500

Minnesota is 8-2 against teams that have a winning record.

Only eight teams have a harder remaining schedule than the Minnesota Timberwolves, but that doesn't mean Anthony Edwards and company have an easy road ahead.

In fact, the next 16 games on the schedule are against teams that enter Monday at or above .500.

  • Dec. 11 at New Orleans (12-11)
  • Dec. 14 at Dallas (13-8)
  • Dec. 16 vs. Indiana (12-8)
  • Dec. 18 at Miami (12-10)
  • Dec. 20 at Philadelphia (14-7)
  • Dec. 21 vs. Los Angeles Lakers (14-9)
  • Dec. 23 at Sacramento (12-8)
  • Dec. 26 at Oklahoma City (14-7)
  • Dec. 28 vs. Dallas (13-8)
  • Dec. 30 vs. Los Angeles Lakers (14-9)
  • Jan. 1 at New York (12-9)
  • Jan. 3 vs. New Orleans (12-11)
  • Jan. 5 at Houston (10-9)
  • Jan. 7 at Dallas (13-8)
  • Jan. 9 at Orlando (15-7)
  • Jan. 10 at Boston (16-5)

The Timberwolves, at 17-4, own the best record in the NBA and are three games ahead of second place Oklahoma City in the Western Conference standings.

Minnesota is 8-2 against teams with winning records this season, including wins over the defending champion Nuggets, Eastern Conference powers Boston and Philadelphia, and the upstart Thunder.

The Timberwolves are 2-0 against the Pelicans already this season, but New Orleans was shorthanded in both games. Zion Williamson, Trey Murphy and C.J. McCollum are all expected to be in the lineup Monday night after all three missed both previous matchups with Minnesota.

Minnesota, however, could be shorthanded as Edwards and Jaden McDaniels are questionable with injuries. Edwards is dealing with a right hip pointer and McDaniels has missed the last eight games with a sprained ankle.
