Timberwolves officially sign TJ Warren to 10-day contract

Former Suns forward is a career 14.6 points per game scorer.

The Timberwolves have formally signed forward TJ Warren to a 10-day contract.

Warren, 30, has recently said he’s “100% healthy” after dealing with foot injuries that sidelined him significantly since the 2020 season.

When healthy, Warren has been effective, and he could provide a scoring boost off the bench, something the Timberwolves could use more of if they hope to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Aside from Naz Reid, the Timberwolves’ second unit has struggled to score at times, and Warren could be an asset in that regard as a player who averages 14.6 points per game for his career. Warren also averages 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

He’s a career 51% shooter and shoots 35% from 3-point range.

Warren averaged a career-best 19.8 points per game in 2019-20 with the Indiana Pacers when he played and started 67 games. He’s only played 46 games in the last two seasons due to injuries. Warren has played 374 career games, including 236 starts, in his eight-year career.
