The Warriors are making a starting lineup change
The Golden State Warriors are facing the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, and they are making a big change to their starting lineup. Klay Thompson has primarily been coming off the bench for several weeks now, but Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is moving him back into the starting lineup for this game against Miami. Thompson has been productive recently, having scored at least 16 points in five-straight games, but his efficiency has been up and down.
Rookie guard Brandon Podziemski has been in the starting lineup for Steve Kerr for the last five games, but he has struggled a bit recently. While Podziemski is not out there to score, his production has dipped to the point where Kerr feels it is best to get Thompson back in the starting lineup for this game against Miami.
The Warriors currently have just a half-game lead over the 11th seed Houston Rockets, and are in serious danger of falling out of the play-in tournament entirely. This would be a disastrous outcome for Golden State, and while this season has already been a major disappointment, missing the play-in tournament entirely would be the worst case scenario. Trying to avoid that at all costs, coach Kerr is making a big lineup change on Tuesday night in hopes of reigniting something with his group.
