Steph Curry's Brutally Honest Statement on Warriors' Playoff Chances
Game by game, the Golden State Warriors are finding themselves backed in a tougher and tougher playoff spot. After Monday's loss against the New York Knicks, they've found themselves back into the 10th seed.
Now, Steph Curry no longer cares what seed the Warriors are in.
After Monday night's loss against the Knicks, the Golden State Warriors are now one game back from the Lakers for the 9th seed, and four games back from the Sacramento Kings for the 6th seed. Steph Curry knows those goals of being the 6th seed are likely over, and a date with the play-in tournament will probably happen. Steph Curry's concerns are more about consistency than anything else.
"Maybe a week or two ago, the 6th seed was the motivation,” Curry said. “Right now, I could care less about where you’re at. It’s just the consistency of how we’re playing. That’s the most important thing because, honestly, who cares what seed you are if you’re going to play like we did tonight? Six, seven, eight, nine, ten – whatever it is, it doesn’t matter. You’re not going to get very far."
The Warriors' inability to win at home this season will likely be the catalyst for why the team ultimately ends up in the play-in tournament. Their remaining schedule doesn't help either. However, it's not over until the final game, and the Warriors still have a slight chance.
