Steve Kerr's Honest Statement After Warriors Lose vs Knicks
The Golden State Warriors needed to win tonight against the New York Knicks - they didn't. Now, the Warriors are back in the 10th seed, and four games behind from making it out of the play-in tournament.
In Steve Kerr's eyes, it wasn't because of a lack of effort that the Warriors lost to the Knicks - they simply just weren't good enough, even with the Knicks missing Julius Randle and OG Anunoby
"I don't think it's a lack of effort," Kerr said. "I think we weren't good enough. It's that simple. We just did not play well enough. It's disappointing because we have these three home games here this week and we wanted to get off on the right track, but that's a really good team and they just outplayed us. Simple as that."
The most frustrating part about the loss for Kerr and the Warriors is that they've been a bad team at home. This season, the Golden State Warriors are now 17-18 at home, which is the main reason why they're unable to be out of the play-in tournament right now.
"It's always important to control your home floor," Kerr said. "This has been a strange season in that regard. We've been good at home for a long time, and just haven't been able to establish that dominance at home. That's what's keeping us from climbing up in the standings."
Kerr's postgame press conference was one where he didn't even seem angry. He just seemed to accept the fact that the Golden State Warriors simply weren't good enough, which is worse than being angry.
