Wizards vs. Pistons Prediction, Player Props, Picks & Odds: Mon, 11/27

The Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons are two Eastern Conference teams that entered the year with some of the lowest expectations, but you’d be hard-pressed to find any NBA fan that wouldn’t admit that Wizards games aren’t exciting. Now matched up against Detroit, they also have a great opportunity to tack on another win to their record.

Wizards vs. Pistons Prediction for Monday, 11/27

As expected, both Washington and Detroit find themselves at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. However, that makes tonight’s game a rather even one, at least from an oddsmakers’ perspective.

As for our experts, we feel as though we’re getting some solid value with the Wizards on the road. First and foremost, we’re fully expecting a high-scoring game, as most have been for Washington this season. Defense has felt optional for them this year, but that’s been the theme for both squads.

Washington and Detroit both rank in the bottom 10 in terms of points allowed per game. While that may be true, the difference lies in the offensive production. The Wizards are just outside the top 10 in that regard, while Detroit is a bottom-five scoring team. What makes that even more concerning for the Pistons is that this is with a healthy Cade Cunningham.

Detroit was without him virtually all of last season, and on the topic of last year, Washington was 3-0 against the Pistons in the 2022-23 season. Not only that, but they covered the spread in two of those games, including as huge 13.5-point favorites. Now with guys like Tyus Jones and Jordan Poole to help their offensive efficiency alongside Kyle Kuzma, they have enough to get by Detroit tonight.

With all the above in mind, our best Wizards vs. Pistons prediction is on Washington +2.5 (-105 at BetMGM Sportsbook).

Wizards vs. Pistons Player Props & Free Picks Featuring Kyle Kuzma & Cade Cunningham

Given that we’re expecting a ton of points to be scored tonight, you likely could have guessed that our Wizards vs. Pistons player props would be focused on total point markets. Let’s get started with the Washington side of things and their leading scorer - Kyle Kuzma.

It may seem like chalk to back their #1 guy, but Kuzma continues to deliver. He especially did so against the Pistons last year and dating back even further. In his last five games against Detroit, Kuzma has scored at least 23 points in four of them, and the only outlier was still a 21-point performance.

Washington often needs him to light up the scoreboard based on how many points they’ve been allowing, so we’ll add to our Wizards vs. Pistons prediction with our first player prop on Kyle Kuzma over 24.5 points (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook).

Of course, with Washington allowing the opposition to also light up the scoreboard, we’re staying with the same market on the Detroit side of things. Last year, the Pistons had to rely primarily on Jaden Ivey and Bojan Bogdanovic for their scoring due to the absence of Cunningham, but it’s safe to say that has changed this season.

With Bogdanovic injured and Ivey taking a backseat to Cunningham, Cade is now the only player on Detroit averaging over 20 points per game. In fact, he’s the only one averaging over 14 points per game. While that’s not good news for them overall, the Washington defense has been weak enough for him to at least pad his own stats.

Look for rookie Ausar Thompson to do his best pulling down rebounds and then feeding Cunningham to find the bottom of the net. That sequence should help the second pick from our Wizards vs. Pistons player props on Cade Cunningham over 24.5 points (-120 at BetMGM Sportsbook) come to fruition.
