Wizards Hoping To Come Up Big Tonight Against Spurs

Wizards Hosting The Spurs Tonight

Tonight is a night where the Washington Wizards are hoping to learn from the examples of the past. In the past, the Wizards have failed to beat teams where their best players were out due to injury. They also have lost to teams they know they know they should have beaten, such as the Detroit Pistons. What makes matters worse is the fact that Cade Cunningham didn’t play. The Wizards seem to lack the ability to take advantage of their circumstances so tonight will be a game that will challenge the Wizards.

The Bottom Line

At first, it appeared that the expected NBA Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama was going to miss this game due to injury. He has been a force on both ends of the floor this season and the Wizards honestly don’t have the size to match up with him. He is now back in the lineup. However, it remains to be seen if he will play a lot of minutes in this game. While the Wizards are hoping his minutes will be restricted, they still have to show up. They have lacked to have that killer instinct to handle business when teams are dealing with injuries.

This game comes down to effort when it comes to the Washington Wizards. That starts with the leaders and faces of the franchise, both Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole. It’s all about execution, crossing the I’s and dotting the T’s. First and foremost, they have to defend and rebound efficiently. The addition of Marvin Bagley will surely help in that department.

However, they also are hoping Daniel Gafford will be available as he too is essential when it comes to rebounding and defending. All hands on deck are needed when it comes to slowing down Victor Wembanyama. This game won’t be an easy one for the Wizards. However, it is up to them when it comes to their effort or lack of effort.
