Wizards Looking To Upgrade At Point Guard

The Washington Wizards Looking To Make A Major Change/Upgrade

With the NBA Finals here, the days tend to go by quickly. Game One of the NBA Finals wasn’t what we all wanted or even expected it to be. Denver just looked like the better team. While many may be rooting for them because of their love and ties to former Wizard G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, game two of the NBA Finals had a turn of events. Jamal Murray was unbelievable in his NBA Finals debut. However, the point guard struggled in Game Two and Miami was able to steal one as the series is now tied at one a piece.

Simply watching the NBA Finals helps this Wizards franchise know and realize what needs to be done. The Wizards will definitely look to upgrade the point guard position. Point guard is the most important position in the league. It’s almost like the Quarterback position in football. Point Guard is so important in the NBA that the Denver Nuggets virtually have two point guards in Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets were a different team with Murray struggling in game two of the NBA Finals so that shows how important the position is.

Once the NBA Finals wraps up, there will be a lot of NBA Draft talk as that is set for Thursday June 22, 2023. The Wizards are working out a lot of guards as they currently hold the number eight pick in this year’s draft. Today’s headliners of prospects include Cason Wallace from Kentucky and Nick Smith Jr. from  Arkansas. One thing we all know is the Wizards did struggle at the most important position last season. Drafting a point guard in this year’s NBA Draft shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.
