Jay Cutler

Expectations are high for Jay Cutler and his cannon of an arm. Cutler was traded to Chicago from the Broncos in April.

The Bears hope to improve upon last year's 9-7 record and make the postseason for the first time since 2006.

Bears Defense

Linebacker Brian Urlacher (blue jersey) and the rest of the Bears D finished fifth in run defense last season, allowing an average of just 93.5 yards per game.

Jay Cutler

As a member of the Broncos last season, Cutler finished third in the NFL in passing (4,526 yards) and seventh in touchdowns (25) while starting all 16 games.

Devin Hester

Hester led the Bears with 665 receiving yards in eight starts last season and looks to play an even larger role this year.

Rookie free-agent cornerback Woodny Turenne has impressed in camp, picking off a Brett Basanez pass on Day 1.

Johnny Knox

Fifth-round selection Johnny Knox is one of a number of young receivers looking to claim a spot on the roster. Knox had 2,227 receiving yards and a school-record 30 touchdowns in his two seasons at Abilene Christian.

Jay Cutler

To better prepare for camp, Cutler held 10 a.m. throwing sessions with Chicago's receivers for about a month.

TE Greg Olsen figures to be one of many targets for Cutler this year. In 2008, Olsen was second on the team in receptions (54) and first in receiving touchdowns (5).

Orlin Kreutz

With the addition of three new offensive linemen this season -- free agents Orlando Pace and Frank Omiyale and first-round pick Chris Williams -- offensive captain Orlin Kreutz will need to help develop cohesiveness.

Brian Urlacher

Standout middle linebacker Brian Urlacher is very optimistic about this upcoming season. "I think this is the best team I've been on going into training camp since I've been here," he said last week.

Orlando Pace

Seven-time Pro Bowl selection and future Hall of Famer Orlando Pace joined the Bears in April as a free agent. The Bears hope Pace and fellow offensive line newcomers Frank Omiyale and Chris Williams can protect Jake Cutler.

Devin Hester

Devin Hester leads Chicago's promising wide receiver crew that includes Earl Bennett, Brandon Rideau, Rashied Davis, Juaquin Iglesias and Johnny Knox.

Greg Olsen

Olsen, a first-round pick in 2007, has officially taken the starting tight end position from Desmond Clark. As backup, Olsen had 93 receptions for 965 yards and seven touchdowns in his first two seasons.

Jake Cutler

With Jay Cutler now at the helm, the Bears may change their offensive style. Cutler has a powerful arm that may have offensive coordinator Ron Turner looking to run deep-ball offense similar to that of the Bears' 2006 championship team.

Devin Hester

Hester may hold the Bears' franchise record for career punt return yards (1,449), but he is not having as much luck as a receiver in camp. Although his hands have been a bit shaky, Hester should be able to overcome his receiving woes once he gets used to Jake Cutler's playing style.

Desmod Clark and Jamar Williams

Desmond Clark will not start at the tight end for the first time since he signed with Chicago as a free agent in 2003.

Lovie Smith

Discouraged by a poor defensive performance last year, Bears head coach and former defensive coordinator Lovie Smith announced that he will be calling the defensive plays this season.
