2014 NFL free agency rumors: San Francisco 49ers interested in Dexter McCluster

Dexter McCluster let the Kansas City Chiefs know on Monday afternoon that he was unlikely to stay with the team once the NFL free agency period kicked off at 4 p.m. ET today, and he is already beginning to generate some interest on the open market.

McCluster is expected to find a new home on Tuesday evening, and it appears that the San Francisco 49ers could be one of the potential suitors.

According to Bill Williamson from ESPN, the 49ers are a team to watch when it comes to adding the speedster.

Not only would McCluster be able to add even more speed to the 49ers offense on the edge, but also he is a valuable player on special teams and could fill the void in the return game that was left when the 49ers released Kyle Williams -- who interestingly enough signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
