Eric Decker meets with New York Jets in 2014 NFL free agency

The New York Jets have made it a priority to add weapons around young quarterback Geno Smith this offseason, so they are looking to make a big splash early in NFL free agency, showing interest in one of the top available wide receivers, Eric Decker.

With a few teams interested in Decker's services, the Denver Broncos free agent decided to give Rex Ryan and company the first crack at signing him. News of Decker's visit leaked last night when Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News passed along the word that Decker was on a plane that landed in Newark.

Decker reportedly has no preference on where he signs, so he could decide to take his time picking a new home with a relatively slow wide-receiver market shaping up.

There are concerns that Decker may not be the true No. 1 receiver that teams are looking to add and that he benefited from playing with Peyton Manning in Denver, but he is undoubtedly a huge upgrade over the current receiving corps in New York.
