Jared Allen recorded 11.5 sacks last season, his lowest total since 2010.

Free agent defensive end Jared Allen is reportedly willing to walk away from the sport if he does not receive the amount of money he believes he deserves. Now, with a recent report about his salary demands, he may be better off leaving the sport.

Allen is seeking a whopping $10 million per year, according to Ed Werder of ESPN.com.

As a nearly 32-year-old pass rusher with declining explosiveness, Allen is unlikely to draw that kind of money from either of the two teams -- the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys -- interested in his services.

Defensive end DeMarcus Ware left the Cowboys because of a lack of salary cap space and the team's inability to pay him, so Allen asking for a contract similar to the three-year, $30 million deal Ware received from the Denver Broncos will immediately take him out of the mix in Dallas.
