2014 NFL free agency: Carolina Panthers sign Jerricho Cotchery to 2-year deal

The Carolina Panthers are barren at receiver after losing Steve Smith, Ted Ginn and Brandon Lafell this offseason. Without that trio -- three of Carolina's top four receivers last year -- the Panthers were left with the likes of Marvin McNutt and Tavarres King at the top of their wide receiver depth chart.
The team took a step toward addressing that weakness Thursday, signing veteran Jerricho Cotchery to a two-year deal.

Cotchery, a ten-year pro, had a renaissance year in 2013, catching 46 passes for 602 yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns while with Pittsburgh. He caught just 33 passes in 2011 and 2012 combined and hasn't been a full-time starter since 2009.
