Conflicting reports arise on whether Mike Wallace is on trade market

Just as trade rumors surrounding Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson appear to have settled down, there's a disputed report about another speedy wideout who could be shopped leading up to the NFL Draft-- Miami's Mike Wallace.

The Dolphins signed Wallace to a five-year, $60 million deal in free agency just one year ago, and though the former Pittsburgh Steeler wasn't quarterback Ryan Tannehill's favorite target, he did catch 73 balls for 930 yards and score five touchdowns. At 27, he still has plenty of good years left, of that there's no debate. But whether he is or isn't on the market depends on who one believes on twitter.

That report was quickly and aggressively refuted by Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

The Dolphins have spoken to NO ONE about trading WR Mike Wallace -- not at annual meeting, not before annual meeting, not at all. Move on.

Wallace is set to earn a base salary of $15 million in 2014, so it is highly unlikely the Dolphins would find a trade partner in short order if La Canfora's report is accurate. And if Salguero is right, well, let's just all move on.
