Browns expected to match Jaguars' offer sheet to Alex Mack 'in no time at all'

Reports have surfaced that the Jacksonville Jaguars are set to place an offer sheet on the table to Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack, which would be a five-year deal that averages more than $9 million per year and includes $18 million in fully guaranteed money.

Once the offer sheet is signed, the Browns would have five days to match the offer, but it's unlikely it will take that long, according to a new report.

While Cleveland may have to do some work in order to match the offer, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that league sources say the Browns will match the offer for Mack "in no time at all."

The good news for the Browns is that they have the most cap space of any team in the league, so they should be able to match the offer regardless of how the Jaguars structured the deal in order to make it as difficult as possible for the Browns to match.

The deal would make Mack the highest-paid center in the league, which would be fitting after his level of play over the past few years resulted in two Pro Bowl nods.

After locking up Mack to a long-term deal, the Browns could shift their focus to the other young stars on their roster -- cornerback Joe Haden and wide receiver Josh Gordon.
