Report: Cleveland Browns offered fourth-round pick for Kirk Cousins

The Washington Redskins and general manager Bruce Allen have said they never came close to trading backup quarterback Kirk Cousins during the 2014 NFL draft, but that doesn't mean they weren't presented with some offers.
According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, the Cleveland Browns offered a fourth-round pick for Cousins in an attempt to reunite Cousins with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

La Canfora went on to suggest that all parties involved would have welcomed a trade except for Allen, who believes that Cousins is worth more than the reported offers.
Former Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley agreed with that assessment on ESPN 980 in Washington D.C., suggesting that Allen would have "absolutely" gone through with the trade had the Browns offered up a second-round draft pick.
Of course, such an elevated price was never an option, and even a fourth-round pick seems to be a mild overpay.
