Eric Decker: New York Jets have talent to be 2015 NFL playoff team

Had things bounced just slightly different for the New York Jets in 2013, it's conceivable to believe they could have made the postseason.

Finishing at 8-8, the Jets had no chance to catch the New England Patriots in the AFC East, however the Jets went into the final two weeks of the year with limited but hopeful aspirations for the second AFC wild-card spot.

They of course fell just short (the San Diego Chargers eventually squeaked into the playoffs with a 9-7 record), but following a handful of free agent additions, some believe the Jets now have enough talent to make the playoffs.

One such person is wide receiver Eric Decker.

“We have the pieces to have a playoff team, it’s a matter of now for us finding how to put that together and making sure we can play efficient football,” Decker said.

Of course, its not just about "pieces" but how those pieces fit.

The quarterback situation remains unsettled, with a battle certain to play out between Michael Vick and Geno Smith, no matter how often Vick and the team suggest otherwise.
