Last season, Ivory cracked a rib in the Jets' final game against the Miami Dolphins. The running back also missed large portions of the 2011 and 2012 NFL seasons with hamstring and foot injuries.

After last Thursday's preseason game, Jets head coach Rex Ryan said Ivory "should be fine."

Ivory started the game for the Jets and ran for 17 yards on seven carries. Last season, Ivory ran for 833 yards and three touchdowns on 182 carries.

The Jets did not name a starter at running back on their first preseason depth chart on Aug. 4. Ivory, Chris Johnson and Bilal Powell were all listed together as the team's first-string backs.
