Denver Broncos receiver Jordan Norwood will miss the upcoming season after tearing the ACL in his left knee, according to reports.

Norwood, 27, was in competition for the Broncos' sixth receiver spot and had reportedly taken first-team repetitions as a punt returner.

Norwood, who went undrafted out of Penn State in 2009, last played in the NFL with Cleveland in 2012, catching 13 passes for 137 yards in two games.

The Broncos open the regular season Sept. 7 against the Colts.
