Orakpo will not play in Washington's final preseason game Thursday against the Buccaneers, according to a report from CSNWashington.com. Washington head coach Jay Gruden said Reed should be available to play in the team's regular season opener at the Houston Texans on Sept. 7.

Orakpo, a three-time Pro Bowler, bounced back from an injury-plagued 2012 to record 10 sacks last year. He and teammate Ryan Kerrigan combined for 18.5 sacks, four fumbles forced and seven passes defended on the year.

In nine games last season, Reed caught nine passes for 499 yards and three touchdowns.
