The New England Patriots went 12-4 and finished in first place in the AFC East before losing to the Denver Broncos in the conference championship game.

This offseason, they drafted former Florida defensive tackle Dominique Easley in the first round and former Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round. New England also made several player acquisitions, including cornerbacks Brandon Browner and Darrelle Revis.

The Patriots have the NFL's 10th-hardest schedule based on opponents' 2013 winning percentages. New England plays four of its first six games on the road before playing three consecutive home games against New York, Chicago and Denver before a Week 10 bye. They also face three road games against playoff teams from last season between Weeks 11 and 14.
