Report: Ex-Texans running back Andre Brown suspended eight games

Free agent running back Andre Brown has been suspended for eight games, according to Howard Balzer of The Sports Xchange. It was not immediately clear what the suspension was for.

Brown bounced around the league early in his career, playing for five teams in 2009 and 2010. He later latched on with the Giants and started a total of 10 games in three seasons.

Brown signed with the Texans in April, where he was competing for a backup spot behind Arian Foster. He did not play in Houston's first preseason game and was released a few days later

According to ESPN's Tania Ganguli, the Texans were aware of Brown's impending suspension "and thought it might be longer than 8 games."
