Saints FB Lorig, S Ball out against Falcons

METAIRIE, La. (AP) The New Orleans Saints have ruled out fullback Erik Lorig and safety Marcus Ball for Sunday's regular season opener at Atlanta.

Receiver Kenny Stills, who has a quadriceps injury, is listed as questionable after practicing on only a limited basis Friday.

Lorig injured his ankle during an intra-squad scrimmage Aug. 2 and has not practiced since. However, the Saints' decision to keep him on the active roster indicates he could return in coming weeks.

Ball has a hamstring injury which sidelined him for the Saints' final two preseason games

Stills injured his quad during the offseason and aggravated the injury on the first day of training camp. He returned to practice in mid-August and played in New Orleans' third preseason game, during which he aggravated the injury again.
