Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting cornerback Mike Jenkinshas been placed on injured reserve with a pectoral injury.

The Buccaneers signed Jenkins, as well asAlterraun Verner, this offseason after releasing Darrelle Revis. The 29-year-old Jenkins played 31 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers. 

Jenkins, a Pro Bowler in 2009, is in his seventh season. He recorded 57 tackles and two interceptions with Oakland last season.

The Bucs also waived defensive end Scott Solomon and added cornerback Crezdon Butler and defensive end Jacquies Smith.

Second-year cornerback Johnthan Banks could replace Jenkins in the starting lineup.
