Report: Eagles' Chip Kelly hires ex-ACC official to help with challenges

Friday September 12th, 2014

Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly recently added a former ACC senior replay official to his staff to help with coaches' challenges, reports Philadelphia Magazine.

Frank Kosman will be responsible, in part, for helping Kelly decide when to throw a challenge flag or not. Last season, the Eagles were 3-of-7 on challenges, which was 17th in the NFL.

BANKS: Week 2 NFL picks

Kosman takes the job over from offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who previously was the one to aid Kelly.

The Eagles threw one challenge flag in Sunday's season opener against the Jaguars, a challenge they lost.

Philadelphia plays the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 on Monday Night Football.
