The Lions will move outside linebacker Tahir Whitehead to the middle linebacker position to replace injured Stephen Tulloch.

Jets coach Rex Ryan compares Ndamukong Suh to Warren Sapp

Tulloch tore his ACL in Sunday's game against the Packers while celebrating a sack.

Whitehead is listed as the starting middle linebacker on Detroit's depth chart, with veteran Ashlee Palmer sliding into the spot vacated by Whitehead on the outside.

Lions offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle could return Sunday vs. Jets

Whitehead entered training camp as Tulloch's backup on the inside, but he performed well enough to earn a starting role on the outside.

The Lions face the Jets on Sunday at the Meadowlands.
