Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson has been suspended without pay for Week 1 of the 2016 season, the NFL announced Thursday.

Richardson has been suspended for violating the NFL’s personal-conduct policy. In July 2015, Richardson was arrested after driving over 140 mph on the highway near his home. In the car with Richardson at the time were three other passengers, including a 12-year-old.

Richardson pleaded guilty to charges relating to the arrest last January, avoiding jail time.

Richardson, the 2013 Rookie of the Year and 2014 Pro Bowler, will be entering his fourth season with the Jets this fall.
