Draft Experts (Almost) Agree on Cardinals First Pick

Nearly everybody believes the Arizona Cardinals are sold on their pick at No. 4 in the 2024 NFL Draft.

ARIZONA -- It's a (nearly) consensus pick for the Arizona Cardinals in mock drafts throughout the web.

With the No. 4 pick, the Cardinals will likely have their pick of the best non-quarterback prospect.

There's a handful of different names that are considered fits in the desert at the top of the order, though there's one distinct name that sticks out.

Here's what mock drafts after the NFL Combine have Arizona doing with the fourth overall pick:

ESPN: Marvin Harrison Jr.

Jordan Reid: "Harrison is a perfect match for Cards quarterback Kyler Murray, who isn't shy about giving his receivers chances down the field. The top-ranked player on my board, Harrison is the prototype of a true WR1. He's 6-3 and 209 pounds, but he has the traits of a smaller wideout, and his tape shows a wide catch radius and diverse route tree. He could help turn around this Arizona offense that could lose Marquise Brown to free agency next week."

Bleacher Report: Marvin Harrison Jr.

B/R: "The fact he's slotted at the fourth pick is purely based on positional value and the three teams ahead of the Arizona Cardinals desperately needing quarterback upgrades.

"Otherwise, Harrison would be in the conversation to be the the third-ever wide receiver in the Super Bowl era to hear his named called with the first pick. The Cardinals can't complain. In fact, they should be jumping for joy if they get him."

The Athletic: Marvin Harrison Jr.

Dane Brugler: "Harrison has been mocked to the Cardinals incessantly since the moment last year’s draft ended — and part of me would like to swap in LSU’s Malik Nabers or Washington’s Rome Odunze for the sake of switching things up. But even without testing data, Harrison remains the favorite to be the first non-quarterback drafted."

NFL.com: Malik Nabers

Lance Zierlein: "The selection should be an easy one in terms of position choice, but stacking the top receivers will be more complicated. There's a lack of consensus on the WR pecking order, if my discussions with team sources tell me anything. Nabers is ultra-explosive and can work all three levels."

For what it's worth, Harrison was still on the board in this mock.

CBS Sports: Marvin Harrison Jr.

Ryan Wilson: "Marvin Harrison Jr. didn't work out at the combine -- he even no-showed for media availability -- and it looks like he won't work out at the Ohio State Pro Day, either. And none of it will affect his draft stock."

Pro Football Focus: Marvin Harrison Jr.

Gordon McGuinness: "The Cardinals will look to build around Kyler Murray in 2024, and that starts with adding the best non-quarterback in the draft.

"Harrison averaged over 3.00 yards per route run in each of the past two seasons, with his 2023 mark of 3.44 trailing only Malik Nabers among players in this draft class."
