Chargers News: Opening Odds For LA-Buffalo Matchup Revealed

The Bolts will battle the Bills next Saturday.

After an extended break this week, your Los Angeles Chargers will do battle against the Buffalo Bills next Saturday, December 23rd, in a bout that the scrappy Bills desperately want to win and the now-tanking Chargers would be happy to lose.

LA will be playing its first game under interim head coach Giff Smith, brought on in the wake of an embarrassing 63-21 Thursday night defeat at the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders. That loss was so bad that it compelled Bolts owner Dean Spanos to fire both head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco. The Staley firing felt inevitable, though perhaps not midseason with LA's 2023 run already pretty much over even before that game. The Telesco firing was a pleasant surprise, as he has clearly struggled with his team-building during a disappointing 10-year stint.

The Chargers are now 5-9 on the year, and essentially are playing for draft position. At 7-6, the Bills are still alive in their own playoff race.

Ryan Noonan of 4 For 4 reveals that the Week 16 odds for LA's probably-doomed clash with Buffalo favor the visiting Bills by 9.5 points. The Action Network, meanwhile, pegs Buffalo's edge at 10 points.

Either way, it's looking like a potential double-digit blowout is once again in the works. Fun stuff.
