The Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas Cowboys are getting set for a huge matchup on Monday Night Football, and tempers were running high well before kickoff.

The teams got into a huge scuffle ahead of the 5:15 p.m. PT start time, with tons of players on both teams getting involved.

One of the players in the middle of it was Chargers running back Austin Ekeler, who's making his long-awaited return to the team this week.

While he's yet to take a snap since Week 1, he's already taken a huge hit on Monday night.

He was caught in the middle of the brawl, and got hit with a punch that knocked his helmet off. Take a look for yourself:

Ekeler seemed to come out of it okay, but this is definitely not the way he envisioned his return beginning.

However, both teams will likely come out extra feisty in this game, which should make for some very exciting football.

Don't be surprised if Ekeler is playing with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder after this pregame skirmish.
