Russell Wilson Explains Optimism For Broncos' Chances Against Chargers

The Broncos quarterback remains optimistic for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Headed into what might be the game of the season for the Los Angeles Chargers, their opponent the Denver Broncos appears to feel confident in their chances based on their recent success.

Per the Denver Broncos Twitter account, Broncos quarterback Russel Wilson doesn't appear to be too stressed about their chances against LA.

“We’ve been 5-1 over the last six games,” Wilson said. “We can’t forget that, too.”

It was at the 4:28 minute mark that Wilson reflected on the Broncos' recent success.

After starting the season 1-6 with little to no hope of making the playoffs this season, the Broncos caught fire at the right time.

As Wilson mentioned, Denver is 5-1 over its last six games including victories over the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and the Cleveland Browns—all teams who are in contention to make the playoffs this year.

Last week, the Broncos winning streak came to a halt after losing 22-17 on the road against the Houston Texans.

For both the Chargers and Broncos, this Sunday's game is just as important to the opponent who will be lining up right across from them as both are trying to find their way into the Wild Card spots in the AFC.

Sunday's matchup between the Chargers and Broncos will be the first time the two teams have met this year.
