The Los Angeles Chargers had an active start to the 2023 offseason, with the front office making significant moves to improve the team through the NFL Draft and free agency. One of their notable acquisitions was All-Pro linebacker Eric Kendricks. Kendricks signed a two-year deal, making him the newest member of the Chargers, and his presence is expected to bolster the defense.

Since entering the league in 2014, Kendricks has established himself as one of the most consistent linebackers in the game. His addition to the Chargers is anticipated to have a positive impact on the team's performance. Pro Football Focus (PFF) recognized Kendricks' abilities and ranked him 12th on their list of the top 32 linebackers going into the 2023 season, placing him in Tier 3 according to PFF's classification.

12. ERIC KENDRICKS, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Kendricks, while he isn’t the elite linebacker he used to be, is a smart second-level player.

During the previous season, Kendricks played and started in every game, leading the Minnesota Vikings to an NFC North title. He showcased his skills by recording 137 combined tackles, the second-highest total in his career, along with eight tackles for loss, one sack, and two quarterback hits.

Although Kendricks doesn't necessarily need to be the best player on the Chargers' defense, given how the Bolts are loaded with superstar players at every level, his experience and contributions will be crucial in propelling the team to new heights. The Chargers will rely on his knowledge and any remaining skills he possesses to further enhance their defensive capabilities.
