Chargers News: Bolts' Odds to Land Saquon Barkley Are High

Barkley to LA is a legitimate possibility.

As free agency kicks off next week, many names could be in new places. This offense will be a significant one, especially for the Los Angeles Chargers. Many current Bolts could find new homes, and new players will don the powder blue in the 2024 season.

One star player who could land in Los Angeles is two-time Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley

Barkley will enter free agency after the New York Giants decided not to franchise tag their second-overall pick in 2018. Barkley will hit the open market for the first time in his career, and landing in Los Angeles is a legitimate possibility.

According to FOX Sports, the Chargers have the second shortest odds to land Barkley with +275 odds.

The Houston Texans are the team in front of the Bolts, with the shortest odds of signing Barkley at -200.

If the Bolts sign the six-year veteran running back, he could take them to the next level. Head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman will emphasize the run, and the 27-year-old could be the lead back in this potentially high-powered offense.

While his talent is undisputable, Barkley's injury history is a concern. Although he's played in most games these past two seasons, he has suffered from a torn ACL and numerous ankle injuries in his college and pro careers.

The injury history is a concern, but if they want a running back to take LA to the next level, Barkley is just the guy to do it. Free agency is less than a week away.
