Chargers News: Keenan Allen is Playing His Best Football Right Now, and It's Surprising Everyone But Himself

The veteran wideout is claiming his spot among the top in his position once again!

Keenan Allen has been off to a molten hot start to begin the 2023 season. In 3 games, Allen has already amassed 32 catches for 402 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

These stats skyrocketed last week in the Chargers' first win of the year, where Allen racked up 18 catches for 215 yards while being a dominant force against the Minnesota Vikings.

While some people are surprised about the 31-year-old veteran's resurgence after a down 2022 season, one person isn't: himself.

"Feeling good. Very motivated, always got a chip on my shoulder," Allen told Chargers.com. "Just continue to prove them wrong."

Allen was coming off a down 2022 season where, in 10 games, he still racked up 752 yards and four touchdowns, which is a great season for most other wide receivers in the league except Allen, who, in any season where he has played 16 games he has amassed over 1,100 yards and six touchdowns.

Allen is fully healthy and recovered from his 2022 injuries, and the stats are proving it.

Allen knows that he's one of the best, and the best always perform, but he wants to keep doing what he is doing and string together good game week after week.

"Just continue playing my game," Allen later added about his great start to the season. "Try not to force too much. Just go out there and let it happen."

Allen needs to step up and help lead a now younger wideout group with Mike Williams going down for the year with his recent ACL tear he suffered on Sunday.

The Chargers face the Las Vegas Raiders at SoFi Stadium and look to make last week's victory a regular thing as the Chargers hope to kick off October with a 2-2 record.
