Chargers News: Kellen Moore Lands Two More Interviews As Exit From LA Becomes Real Possibility

An era may be ending.

Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who just a few weeks ago was being barred by his team from even talking with rival franchises about other job openings, is now very possibly leaving town as he collects interviews.

Per Mike Garafolo of The NFL Network, Moore spoke with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday about their offensive coordinator position, and is set to chat with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers regarding the same kind of gig on Monday.

Moore, briefly a pro quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions, transitioned to coaching with Dallas after hanging up his cleats. He was a highly regarded preseason pickup for the Bolts via the Dallas Cowboys ahead of the 2023 season. He did what he could to lead Justin Herbert and co. out of the NFL’s dregs, but Moore didn’t exactly transform the club’s offense into world beaters. LA frequently melted down in late-game situations, although in fairness the offense was plagued by wide receiver injuries and a sheer lack of top tier running back talent.

Newly-named Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh seems likely to bring on a lot of his own coaching staffers, which could very likely include a fresh offensive coordinator to supplant the incumbent Moore.
