The Chargers held their first mandatory minicamp and this is a time for players to come together, while getting some extra work in. During the media availability, defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day had some unique answers and analogies to describe the offseason and the upcoming season.

"The offseason is kind of like baking a cake," Joseph-Day said. "I know it's a weird analogy, but you can't skip one step."

Joseph-Day may have put it in a strange way but he's absolutely correct. In order for this Chargers team to reach their goals of winning a Super Bowl, they have to put the work in and can't skip out on steps. It's how they will be successful this season and the work that they are putting in now, will help translate over to the real games. Joseph-Day continued:

"Each phase, at least with me and my training, you need to do this — you have to get the eggs, you have to [break] the yolk," Joseph-Day added. "It's step-by-step. You have to put the baking soda in, you can't take the cake out too soon. It's step-by-step."

Joseph-Day is entering his season second with the Chargers and he is ready to help this team get over the hump. He knows what it takes to win as he won the Super Bowl in 2021 with the Los Angeles Rams. He's ready to bring a title to the other team in the city and it starts with preparation

The Chargers have expectations this season and for good reason. They are loaded with talent and should once again be competing for a playoff spot in the AFC.
