Out of all the position battles that are taking place at Chargers minicamp, none may be as competitive as the kicking job.

Currently Cameron Dicker and Dustin Hopkins are in camp looking to see which one will be the placekicker for the Bolts in 2023.

On Tuesday, the two kickers showed that it might be a tough decision for head coach Brandon Staley to choose which kicker will earn a spot on the roster.

"Kickers Dustin Hopkins and Cameron Dicker both went 4-for-5 on their field goals Tuesday. Dicker’s miss came from close range at around 30 yards. Hopkins’ miss was from a longer range, nearly 45 yards. Both missed were side left. This kicker battle should stretch deep into training camp." (via The Athletic)

Both players were on the Bolts roster at one point last season and both had success.

Dicker made 19 of the 20 field goals he took in the 10 games he played last season. The highlight of Dicker's season was hitting the walk-off winner against the Atlanta Falcons in week 9.

This was Dicker's first game with the Chargers after spending time with the Philadelphia Eagles and hitting a walk-off winner for them as well a couple weeks earlier.

Hopkins was the Bolt's kicker to start the 2022 season but a hamstring injury kept him out of the teams final 12 games.

In the five games he did play, Hopkins went 9 for 10 on field goals and converted all his extra points.

Whether its Hopkins or Dicker kicking the ball Week 1, the battle for the position is going to take all summer to figure out.
