In a fresh mock draft, Mike Kashuba of Last Word On Sports projects that your Los Angeles Chargers will select junior Louisiana State University Tigers wide receiver Malik Nabers.

"Surely every mock draft will say “this is where the real draft starts”. Well, this is where the real draft starts," Kashuba writes. "This Chargers team needs speed like we need air to breathe. Nabers has it in bunches."

The unanimous All-American and First-Team All-SEC honoree, 20, was the program's scoring champ with 3,003 total yardage.

During what wound up being his last amateur season, the six-foot, 200-pound 2023 Citrus Bowl MVP logged 1,424 total yards on an average of 17.8 yards per bout, while nabbing a career-best 12 touchdowns.

Should Los Angeles look to make a major new addition at wide receiver via the draft?

Absolutely.

Incumbent six-time Pro Bowl wideout Keenan Allen is 31, and although he didn't show any signs of slowing down this season, he is by any chronological football metric somewhere near the end of his prime. LA's other Day 1 starting wide receiver, Mike Williams, is rarely healthy. Los Angeles general manager Joe Hortiz needs to bolster Justin Herbert's offensive options. Nabers could represent a key opportunity to do just that.
