The majority of the greatest passes ever thrown by Philip Rivers and Justin Herbert in recent Chargers history have been caught by none other than Keenan Allen. He has been a member of the Bolts ever since he was drafted in 2013 and has stayed strong throughout all of the roster changes, move to Los Angeles, and so much more.

However, he is turning 31 very soon and even though he hasn't shown any big warnings of his production going down, the Chargers should looking at a young WR to develop sooner than later. Their other main option is Mike Williams but he is pushing 30 as well and falls in the same boat. They both missed a number of games in 2022 and still logged over 60 receptions each.

Luckily, the NFL draft this year is one that doesn't have a set of group players guaranteed to get picked in the first round and LA finds themselves with a number of options with their 21st pick. Names like Bijan Robinson and Jordan Addison have been slated as favorites to end up in powder blue but BVM Sports believes that a certain prospect from Boston College by the name of Zay Flowers could take on Allens' role.

"Despite being a little undersized at 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, the Boston College product has 4.4 speed and separating ability that make him an elite prospect. That was on full display as he racked up 78 catches for 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Flowers could be the eventual Keenan Allen replacement in L.A."

Taking on all of the responsibilities that Allen currently has would be quite the task but that is why it could be smart to bring in Flowers since now. Allen still has more years ahead of him as their main option but Justin Herbert is a young quarterback.

It would make a lot of sense to pair him with someone that could develop with him.
