Chargers News: Timing Revealed For Joe Hortiz's Presser At NFL Combine This Week

When does he meet the press?

The NFL’s predraft slate continues apace!

With the 2024 National Scouting Combine scheduled to kick off later this week, major front office and coaching personnel from all 32 NFL squads will descend upon Indianapolis to take stock of 300 college prospects.

So when will your Los Angeles Chargers’ top executive, new general manager Joe Hortiz, speak with the press?

Per Gavino Borquez of Chargers Wire, Hortiz is set to meet the press on Tuesday, February 27th, at 7 a.m. PT. New head coach Jim Harbaugh is not set to talk, although it certainly seems likely he’ll be in attendance, especially given that his Michigan Wolverines will have representatives on hand and have played against several of these NFL hopefuls.

He will no doubt be asked how he intends to operate in the offseason, with a cash-strapped roster at hand.

As for what assets Hortiz has at his disposal, LA possesses all seven of its own draft selections this spring.

LA is projected as being $31.7 million over this year's salary cap.

The action starts at noon PT Thursday with auditions from the defensive linemen and linebackers.

Tight ends and defensive backs will get in on the fun Friday, also at 12 p.m. PT. Offense will be the sole focus Saturday, when quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs take the field starting at 10 a.m. PT. Sunday will mark the weekend‘s conclusion, as offensive linemen wrap things up at 10 a.m. PT.
