Chargers Part Ways With Linebacker Eric Kendricks

After one year back in L.A., the one-time All-Pro will search for a new home.

The Los Angeles Chargers have released former first-team All-Pro linebacker Eric Kendricks

The team announced on Tuesday via X.

This is strictly a business move, as this now frees up $6.5 million in cap space.

The one-time Pro Bowler signed a two-year, $13.25 million deal with the Chargers last offseason. He spent one year with the Bolts, recording 117 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, one forced fumble, seven quarterback hits, and 3.5 sacks in 15 games.

It was a homecoming season for Kendricks, who hails from Clovis, California, and attended UCLA for four years.

Kendricks also served as the team captain.

The 2023 season wasn't how he or the Chargers envisioned it going. Nonetheless, he will look for a new team for the second consecutive offseason.

This move now inches the Bolts closer to an ideal cap situation once free agency kicks off next week.
