Chargers News: Cowboys, Reeling From Blowout To 49ers, Look To Save Season Vs LA

A good test for both teams.

Your Los Angeles Chargers will welcome the Dallas Cowboys for a Week 6 primetime matchup off of their early bye week and a 2-2 start to their 2023 season.

Dallas received a brutal 42-10 beatdown at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday night and now turns toward redemption against the Bolts in their next game.

“The offense is coming off its worst performance, with only one touchdown scored in the road loss on Sunday night. And now we have a Monday night game against the Los Angeles Chargers on the way.”

History suggests that the Cowboys under McCarthy respond well to losses but Dallas may be shorthanded due to various injuries across the board.

Return specialist and wide receiver KaVontae Turpin scored Dallas' only touchdown of the night but will likely miss the team's Week 6 contest in LA due to a high ankle sprain.

It's a similar story for Leighton Vander Esch who suffered a neck injury late into the fourth against San Francisco and could also miss the important contest.

Even Dallas' special teams unit wasn't safe from the injury bug as C.J. Goodwin tore his pectoral muscle and will miss the rest of 2023.

Already without Trevon Diggs due to a torn ACL, Dallas' vaunted defense will have plenty of holes for Justin Herbert to expose.

Micah Parsons remains a concern as an edge rusher but even he got held in check from a dominant 49ers offensive line performance.

Desperation may quickly set in for Dallas after their entire roster couldn't inspire confidence against one of the top dogs in the league.

Many expected Dallas to be contenders for the NFC but Sunday clearly showed a different story.

Philadelphia as a division rival and their recent conquerors in San Francisco remain head and shoulders above Dallas and the rest of the conference.

A .500 record could certainly spell a death sentence for the Cowboys' NFC East hopes and Kellen Moore's old team should display a sense of urgency to show for it next Monday night.
